Lauren Weiner
Entertainment Writer & Film Publicist
I'm always looking for the story in a piece or project, because narratives are what draw people in. From music and film to local culture and history, my work spans a breadth of platforms and people.
I got my start as a content writer for the Colgan Team, where I authored more than 25 articles on Northern Virginia culture, driving over 200 views to every post. Around the same time, I began writing weekly columns on music, television, and film for Trill Mag. Seven months in, I was promoted to Entertainment Editor, a role in which I now mentor and guide emerging writers.
My film criticism appears in City on Fire, That Shelf, and The Geekly Grind. I translate local culture into digestible reads as a contributor to Chicago's Third Coast Review, and I bring that same approach to country and bluegrass for Country Standard Time. I also contribute book reviews to Reader Views and write comic book features for Bridge Magazine.
As a Junior Publicist at Michigan Film Network LLC, I drive media coverage for pre-production films and write press releases for industry outlets.
